Reservation and Cancellation
Reservations will only be accepted by Internet or email. We will send you a request of booking deposit once we have received your reservation.
The deposit needs to be paid within 7 days after invoice date, by bank transfer to the owners bank account. The payment of your deposit will officially confirm your reservation and both parties are binded by a rental agreement. Tenants wishing to subscribe to a cancellation insurance, need to purchase their own policy. In case of cancellation, an invoice can be requested for the benefit of the cancellation insurance.
The parties agree the following cancellation conditions:
- if canceled up to the 90th day before the arrival day: 35% of the rent.
- cancellation from the 90th day until the 28th day before the arrival: 60% of the rent.
- cancellation from the 28th day until the 7th day before the arrival date: 90% of the rent.
- in case of cancellation from the 7th day or later 100% of the rent.
Payment
The balance need to be paid by bank transfer, 6 weeks before the date of arrival. In case of reservation less than 6 weeks before arrival the total reservation amount needs to be paid by bank transfer at the time of reservation. If the balance has not been paid (after a first payment reminder), the reservation will be cancelled without refund of your deposit. No refund of any booking amount or cleaning fees will be made in case of early departure.
The tenant must pay a deposit of 200 EURO by cheque or cash, for the stay in a gîte.
The deposit is payable at arrival at the residence address, to be paid to the owner. After staying at the gîte any additional costs will be settled immeditely, including any service costs, any costs due to damage or missing items and this will be deducted from the deposit. Any outstanding payments due should be settled immediately by cash or cheque.
Liability
No gîte rental agreement to persons younger than 21 years. Tenants are responsible for eventual damage in the gîtes, room or on the estate. even if this damage has been determined after departure. Tenants need to subscribe to a liability insurance. They are responsible for eventual harm and damage. Owners decline any responsibility in case of damage of, or theft of, tenant’s personal belongings. Tenants need to report to the owner any deviation of the inventory, the general condition of the accommodation/garden and the accommodation, as described on the website, within 24 hours from arrival. Owners decline any responsibility for any damage of tenant’s personal belongings during their stay in gîte, chambre d’hôte or garden.
Number of persons
It is strictly forbidden to occupy a rental accommodation with more persons than the number of persons as indicated in the rental description and declared during reservation. In case of false declarations, the rental agreement will be dissolved. No refund of any booking amount will be made.
Cleaning
In case of complaints regarding the rental accommodation at arrival, owner and tenants will try to find a solution together. No financial compensation will be made in the case of complaints.
Smoking
It is strictly forbidden to smoke in the gîtes, chambres d’hôtes or castle. Smoking is only allowed outside.
Pets
Pets are not welcome, except horses.
Arrival & departure
Gîtes and chambres d’hôtes: arrival between 5 pm and 6pm, departure before 10 am. Owner is not responsible for the consequences of late departure than the specified time. On departure indicated later than 11 am owner is allowed to ask tenant for an additional amount per day or half day and any consequential damage.
Responsibility and obligations
Tenants need to respect the Château rules and present agreement. In case of non-respect, tenants are responsible for any damage and harm.
Tenants need to respect the accommodation, its inventory and the surroundings, including the noise level.
Tenants can not refuse the entrance of the owner in case of necessary reparations.
Upon departure, the tenant must leave the gîte in a decent condition ie leave broom clean. The property including fixtures and fittings, present in the gîte must always be put back in its original position (as is, on arrival). Crockery should be washed and stored in the appropriate place. Owner is entitled to make a final check at the time of departure. If owner will observe whether (several) things have not been put in their original place or if the gîte is not swept clean, or if there are missing goods or items, owner is entitled to charge extra cleaning costs, replacement or compensation to the tenant.
Owners decline any responsibility in case of faulty equipment and/or services. Waste sorting (plastic, cans, papers, uncooked fruit and vegetables) obligatory (bins provided).
You may use the fireplace present in the gîte and is fired with wood. It is FORBIDDEN to throw paper or other combustible materials in the fire.
The owner is not responsible for accidents, injuries or illnesses that occur during a stay in or around the gîte. The owner is also not responsible for the loss or theft of personal belongings or valuables.
Owner is also not responsible for emergencies or natural disasters in whatever form for tenants.
The tenant must take into account the fact that Château de la Preuille is located on the French countryside and therefore he should take into account the presence of wild birds, insects etc. Also in this regard the owner accepts no responsibility.
The tenant is legally liable for his / her or other tenants of the same party in the gîte or business for any inflicted injuries, the horses who are on a dedicated place on the propery, the horsestables or on the property itself.
Children are more then welcome at Château de la Preuille, but must be under supervision at all times by parents or adult carers with particular emphasis on safety of themselves and others and respect for other guests privacy and belongings.
A €10 surcharge will be applied for each lost key.
The tenant will respect the rules of the owners and the present general conditions. In case of non-compliance with the rules or deterioration of the property belonging to the owners, the tenant alone will be held responsible. The tenant will respect the rental, the inventory, the surroundings as well as the noise level. The tenant cannot refuse the manager entry to the rental in case of necessary repairs. The tenant will ensure that the household appliances (oven, dishwasher, …) are emptied and cleaned on his departure.
The owners decline all responsibility in the event of outages and/or breakdowns of services and/or equipment on the premises in the event of force majeure. Selective sorting (plastic, cans, paper, uncooked fruit and vegetables, etc.) in the containers or a garden composter provided for this purpose.
Electric Cars
The tenant is not allowed to charge electric cars on the premises. However, we would like to point out that fast chargers are available in the immediate vicinity of our castle for charging electric vehicles. We encourage tenants using an electric car to make use of these external charging facilities. For further information on the location and availability of fast chargers, we can provide you with details. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Swimming pool
Our tenants love to use the swimming pool of our holiday rental! It’s a great way to spend the summer days while staying at home.
We ask you to keep in mind some essential things about the pool.
The pool is open from 10am to 9pm every day, except in cases of force majeure. Please respect these times out of respect for the neighbours.
The Owners remind their guests that the swimming pool is unsupervised. Its use is reserved only for people staying in bed and breakfast or gîte, and for the Owners.
Please avoid using glass dishes or glass bottles near the swimming pool. You must use the plastic cups available for all drinks by the pool.
Guests should take a shower before entering the pool to rinse off sunscreen.
The safety and supervision of children is your sole and absolute responsibility.
All children under 13 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at the poolside.
