One of the oldest castles in the Loire Valley<\/h2>\n

Ch\u00e2teau de la Preuille is an old feudal residence and counts as one of the oldest C\"\"h\u00e2teaux in the Loire Valley. Dating from the eleventh century<\/strong>, it took its present form in the thirteenth and fifteenth centuries. The wide moat defending the northern aspect of the walls and towers indicates its origins as a stronghold and gives it a stamp of nobility. In 1832, Marie-Caroline of Bourbon, Duchess of Berry, visited Ch\u00e2teau de la Preuille to launch her coup against King Louis Philippe in order to crown her son Henry, the last legitimate Bourbon. The coup failed and Marie-Caroline of Bourbon was arrested.<\/p>\n

From 1350, the castle was owned by the family Boux, Bastard (1460), Gastiniere (1541), and through the late 18th century, D\u2019Nacquart. During the 20th century, Chateau de was abandoned and was left in a state of disrepair. It was saved and restored by the Fradin family in the 1970\u2019s and 1980\u2019s. Renovation was continued by the family Ribow between 2003 and 2019.<\/p>\n

In late 2019, the family Las van Bennekom became the proud owners of Ch\u00e2teau de la Preuille and are thrilled to have the honour of continuing the journey in preserving this magnificent castle and its history.<\/p>\n\n\n
